Updates on Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health Press Release on EEE Summarized

I’d like to provide an update to the
Triple E virus notice shared two to three weeks ago there’s been a recent
update from the Massachusetts Department of agricultural resources and the
Massachusetts Department of Public Health they’ve determined there will be
additional rounds of aerial spraying in the southeast region of Massachusetts
after identification of a individual in Massachusetts with the Triple E virus
this is the first human diagnosis since 2013 this occurred on August 10th most
recently other regions of Massachusetts Middlesex and Worcester County have
confirmed another individual affected with Triple E virus that was confirmed
on August 16th so DPH and DAR have confirmed arrow
spraying in those regions on Sunday please check to see if your local area
is on the list of areas impacted. Please continue to keep yourself
informed by checking the Internet and the news in your local area. Remember mosquitoes are most active from dusk to dawn with a reduced risk in daylight hours. Please be sure to take
precautions use bug spray wear long sleeve shirts and pants with protective
headgear in addition to bug spray. There have been two confirmed cases of human
infection to date this year, this hasn’t occurred since 2013 so the more caution
the better in protecting yourself. Thank you.
