tioLogic® TWINFIT – Interview with User Dr. Joachim Hoffmann

Dr. Hoffmann, we recently presented the tioLogic® TWINFIT system to you. What were your first thoughts? Well, first of all I was surprised because I didn’t realize it was possible to improve on the tioLogic® system. It already was an excellent system! I have been working with the tioLogic® implant system since 2005; in 2013 the ST implant was introduced. I have always been very happy with tioLogic®. So it was a nice surprise when tioLogic® TWINFIT was introduced. It offers flexibility for prosthetic restorations and has a feature which is good for colleagues just starting out in implantology. What was the most convincing point for you? The flexibility. After implant insertion, we can decide if we need a conical or a platform connection. This is a unique selling point of tioLogic® TWINFIT. Also the flexibility in the surgical procedure since clinicians have the choice of working with or without depth stops. What are the advantages of tioLogic® TWINFIT during surgical preparation? One advantage for me is that I can use the ADVANCED preparation instruments with a standard (somewhat faster) speed and water-cooling. Or I can use low-speed preparation without water-cooling and without pressure. A lot of my colleagues have begun to use low-speed preparation. It has the advantage that bone chip can be collected and used for augmentation. The option to use the depth stops is a huge advantage for colleagues starting out in implantology, particularly when they are working in areas that are hard to see. They ensure that the drill does not go too far. What advantages do you see in the prosthetic restoration phase? For the first time ever, it is now possible to decide after implantation and after the healing stage which type of connector geometry is needed: conical or platform. Most colleagues have a preference and here they can decide between the two. Sometimes we plan to use the connector geometry that the colleague prefers, but it doesn’t always work out in practice. This system gives us a lot of freedom. Sometimes we have to change the angle of the implant. With this system, we can adapt the prosthetic restoration to the surgical case in hand.
For which indications is tioLogic® TWINFIT suitable? We use tioLogic® TWINFIT for all situations we encounter here. There are no indications where an implant is indicated that cannot be solved with tioLogic® TWINFIT. Which target group will find tioLogic® TWINFIT interesting? tioLogic® TWINFIT is suitable for all dentists practising implantology, both for the prosthetist and the surgeon. The advantage for the surgeon is that he is flexible in adapting his preparation protocol; he can work with or without the depth stops; he can work with low-speed or standard speed. The advantage for the prosthetist is that he is free to choose between a conical and a platform connection after the implant has been fitted. For me personally, there is an added advantage. I treat patients from colleagues who like to work with either the conical or the platform connection. I can insert the implant without having to make the decision on connector geometry beforehand. How does tioLogic® TWINFIT differ from other implant systems? The unique selling point for tioLogic® TWINFIT is its flexibility, both at the surgical and the prosthetic stage. tioLogic® TWINFIT: it’s my choice!
