interview questions no offense okay so you’re wondering what questions should I
ask in a job interview and that is an excellent question
let’s take some time to answer it by offering some interview tips will start
with candidates traditionally you’ll answer a lot more questions than you
asked during your job interview but you should definitely come prepared with
questions of your own you want to ask questions that will help you better
understand the position and how you will fit and succeed at the organization so
how would my work help the company reach that goal you’ll also want to see if
you’re a culture fit and if the organization’s values match with yours I

a silver bullet question that offers some magical solution to determine
whether or not the candidate is right or wrong for the job I just got one more
question for you no magic interview questions don’t exist please no
hypothetical question what would you do if you found out your coworker was an
international spy answer me say no to trick questions is it legal for a man to
marry his widows sister no psych eval questions what can you
tell me about your relationship with your mother and please no irrelevant
questions what’s your spirit animal don’t say ferret the problem with these
types of interview questions is that they’re almost always useless at
determining on the job performance so don’t ask them and of course never ask
any questions related to protected classes never talk about the candidates
age disability genetics national origin or ancestry citizenship race or color
gender pregnancy status religion or beliefs or veteran status like ever how
old are you sorry I can just never tell women by the way what’s your favorite
religion – that’s so dumb ok let’s go over some
good questions to ask in an interview first a couple disclaimers these
interview questions are not endpoints it merely meant to just help kick off
discussions remember always ask follow-up questions also questions

every job has its own unique difficulty what were some of the bigger

should dig deep to determine the candidate’s actual experience so what
exactly were you assigned to do there looking back what would you say were
your greatest accomplishments so why did you leave
get real are you even qualified to be the captain of a starship fleet mm
questions should be based on how you’ll measure their work so what kind of goals
did you set for yourself how did curiosity what would your previous
managers say your biggest strengths and areas for improvement are you’ve a nice
physique do any good at sports yeah I’ve been known to dabble with the
disc okay interview questions should gauge the
candidates culture fit so how do you like to get feedback from others so tell
me about your team how did you keep everyone motivated what’s been your
approach to dealing with conflict in the workplace it’s really important here
that people are honest so are you honest yes I’ve literally never
told a lie hmm well what if I need you to lie for me yeah anything you want
boss and again it’s very important that you ask a lot of follow-up questions
very rarely will the first question get the answer need to make an accurate
judgment call for example if the conditions that frustrated the candidate
at their old job exist – what the position you’re hiring for you’ll have
to ask multiple questions to get to the truth how did you feel about that do you
have any specific examples of this why was that so frustrating so who was your
manager there and what was working for mark like what do you think you would
say about working with you oh you’ve heard about welcome all the group’s
culture what have you heard why is that so appealing to you how does that
compare to other places you work you through the job sounds interesting
yes yes it is an interesting job okay next question how do I look in these

candidates off the hook with vague or incomplete answers ask as many follow-up
questions as you need to get the clearest answers possible after all
