JOB INTERVIEW questions and answers (Part 2): Why do you want to work here?

JOB INTERVIEW questions and answers (Part 2): Why do you want to work here?

In this week’s job search tip, we’re
going to be going over interview question and answers. Today we’re going to discuss the
question “Why do you want to work here?” We’re gonna look at it from different
angles and find out what employers are really looking for. That’s coming up! Hey guys, I’m Kim with Snagajob and
welcome to our weekly show. We’re going to be going over everything from interview tips to resume advice and everything in between. Today, we’re going to be tackling the
dreaded question “Why do you want to work here?” Now this is a very common question and
chances are in almost every interview you go on you are gonna be asked this
question. “Cuz I’m broke and I really need the money.” So as tempting and honest as that may be, what they really wanna know is if your looking for their job, or if you’re looking for just any job. If you come across as desperate and needy than it’s just looking like you’re gonna
take any job that comes along and you may leave them as soon as something better comes. “I don’t really wanna work here but “I’m trying to afford this Spring Break trip with these girls that I know. Apparently, playing Call of Duty is not a real job. Whatever, Mom.” “I heard employees get free sandwiches?” “I have the biggest crush on the girl who works the night shift. Eeeee” You’re best bet is to focus on the company itself. I’ve recently talked to Resha, a hired Snagajob member who got hired at Kohl’s during a group
interview. Now what they did was they went around the room asked everyone the
same question. And when the “Why do you wanna work here” question came up everyone answered with things like:
“Honestly I’ll do anything I just really need the money.” So, to set herself apart, Resha said: I want to work here because I admire
your staff’s friendliness and I want to be a part of that. So what she
did was focus on the company itself and focus on what she admired about them
their customer service something they take very seriously and
that really set her apart from the rest of the group. What you really want to do is keep your
answers about them and how well the two of you can work together. Make
sure you do research on the company before you go in for the interview. Take a look around at their website and
see if they won any awards maybe for how they treat their employees
or how they treat their customers. These are things you can mention
specifically when answering that question that can really show that you take your
job search seriously and really want this job “I’ve been a fan of Build-A-Bear for years
now and I think this is a great place for me to put my customer service skills
to work In fact, I saw on your website that you won an
award for being a great place to work and every time I’ve been in there I’ve seen how happy your employees were. I would love to join the team. So the three things to answer this
question really well are: First, talk about how much you admire the company. Second, talk about what a great fit you
would be in this position. And third, show that you’ve done research
on the company itself. So interviewing itself can be a little
stressful and some of the best advice we can give you is to practice. Practice, Practice, PRACTICE. It will help ease some of the nerves and you go in with
confidence that you know what’s coming ahead. So, thanks for joining us today please like

  • With your interview tips I promise you that you wont even get a cleaning job at mcdonalds. YOU ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

  • I just went for an interview today and I learnt from this video just how much I didnt know about answering these sort of questions.

  • I hope I'm getting the job that I interviewed for today. However, the interview was very short {5 minutes} they didn't ask all of these questions only like 3 really ask any of these questions they only asked where I worked before {which I told them that I worked as a cc at king soopers for two years, and a sales associate/cashier 5 months} which is what they're looking for a CC and someone who sometimes works the register as well. they asked me if I was from where I'm from and I said yes. then they asked when I could work, {which I told them any time} and they asked me if I could weekends and holidays, which I told them I could, because I know weekends, and holidays are the busiest days for a grocery stores. Also Holidays as well, people come in even the week before the holiday to come and shop, so they always need help at that time. they did ask me if I had any questions for them and I asked if they still did the orientation they used too and they said no it was all on computer, and then they said ok and that they had other interviews, so they'd give me a call.

  • why do wanna work here? is a stupid question umm because you're hiring lol i need money to eat my kid needs things if you don't work you cant eat or do anything else and You're suppose to work and i hate jobs they claim you need 2 or 3 years experience even fast food smh then when you apply and apply they wont hire you even if its your first job and you have tried more than enough times smh its frustrating

  • Very great and well though out and said advise, very professional . . .THANK YOU VERY MUCH (NEW SUBSCRIBER!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!) -†PEACE OUT!!!

  • "Why do you want to work here" LMAO nigga you must retarded af why else nigga i want that money! Just tell them you tryna run up a check.

  • I like to flip it. Why should I work for you? Excellent people are hard to find! When you know your value and have what it takes, it should be beneficial to all.

  • But at the end of the day, it's all BS! Simply saying "you won an award, I'd like to be a part of that" is simply lip service and ingenious. That is why our country is in the state it's in.

I am so sick and tired of fakeness. Needing a job because you're willing to work your ass off and because you need the money is not bad! And that is exactly why these same companies have a high turnover rate. It makes me sick to my stomach. The individuals hiring would rather hear a lie than hear the truth.

Think about that. You may be correct in everything you said, but it is all fake. This is exactly how crappy workers end up with companies, meanwhile, honest hard working workers who tell the truth struggle to find one. BS!

  • How does this sound " I want to work here because my friend had work here and has said great things about the company"?

  • Just Going To Subscribe Your Channel. I want a accent like you, Love it, Please guide me how I can do it..?

  • Why do I want to work here? BECAUSE I NEED MONEY THAT'S WHY!!! Maybe employers should stop asking STUPID QUESTIONS!!

  • I've studied these videos for my job interview back in May and it took about 6 weeks and 4 interviews but because of these snag a job videos I got hired at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas! 😊 thank you guys these tips really work!

  • I just had my very first interview and it's not as scary as thought it would be hoping I get the job right now #KFCHIREMEEEE! lol

  • How would I answer the question; "When was the last time you broke a rule, and it turned out to be the right thing to do?"

  • These questions are almost word for word what they ask you at Target. I wish I had seen these videos before now. I went on two interviews then they told me they had nothing for me. I think it's age discrimination.

  • these videos are actually informative but what really surprise me was i found myself waiting for their bloopers =)

  • yessss, i was so anxoius about having a job interview tomorrow and these videos are everything i needed. The way you present them, the length, the examples…thank you so much!!!

  • Why anyone wants to work anywhere is for the money, plain and simple. Too bad we have to bullshit our way to do so. We teach our kids not to lie, yet we have to lie in order just to survive in this society that is so surrounded and focused on money in order just to even feed our children.

  • Who would have thought that at 25 my life would be how it is. I definitely didn't. To clarify, I don't feel like I'm where I should be in life. When I look at other people my age I see a couple different lifestyles; the constant partiers, the university students, and those that have everything figured out already and are way on their way into the good part of adulthood. I feel like I don't fit into any of those categories. I also feel like I'm drowning in terms of feeling pressure to find the perfect career. I have absolutely no idea what I want to be when I grow up. Every time I think of something that might interest me or that I might be good at, I think of all the different ways I would fail at it. I want to be able to answer the question, "So, what do you do?", with an actual answer, like "I'm a Police Officer", or "I'm an accountant". But as of right now, I have no career path or any idea of which one I would want to pick if I were given the chance.

  • Try this proved method SMARTER MONEY 2018 makes money online , newbie friendly system, no need previous experience, Just search Google, DOLLARINCOMEIDEAS. COM

  • Don't waste your time with this place. I enquired about a position at Sprouts. I was told to come in for an interview the next day. I did, and was hired before I left the store, not only was I hired? I was promoted before I left the store. I know, quite unusual.
I went through the almost endless interviews, OSHA training and hours of LMS computer work. Paid off course.
All of this, and then let go after noticing cross contamination in the meat cutting room.
I felt I should bring this to the attention of my immediate supervisor. I don't regret reporting it, other than I lost my job under false pretenses.
Get the job if you need it, but I would suggest keep applying at different locations. This may be in your better interest.
    NO JOB SECURITY AT ALL.

  • My last job interview was a few weeks ago and I didn't like the way they got 2 people together and asked them a question about when was a time we gave or experienced as a customer or attendant a good or bad customer service experience. I couldn't afford to buy from the company but I said I was honest and told them how I found someone's credit card and all the other one could do was go on about all the expensive dresses she had bought there and felt like she was a princess. She looked multiracial dark skin ethnic and I knew she would get the job over me as most of them always have, even though she came across so false and over fresh sucking up to the company . Then of course my printer decided to die that morning and I got sick and tired of paying out $5.00 for a resume print out every time. I really just went with the attitude of "I know I am not going to get this job anyway, I am too old anyway" I just went in case my luck changed and got to dress up. The company only tend to employ their rich patrons. I think it is wrong to group interview and if this company is so hung up about giving customers an experience then they should start with their applicants and interview them like they are the most special person in the room and layer out times so no one sees their competition at all. They went on about their smart selling system and asked me if there was anything I wanted to ask, so I said "I have had a look at your company and projections for new development etc, what do most workers like here, what is not working in the company or this store well" and she refused to say at all bubbling it up. So I just said the wrong thing completely from start to finish.
