Interviewing for Research Projects : Research Projects: Preparing Interview Questions

Alright, it’s time to prepare our questions,
and the key word is prepare. Don’t try to do an interview impromptu, and what I mean
by that is don’t just assume you know what you want to ask because what will happen when
you get in there is you might forget, or it might not take very long, or it might take
too long, or you might look like you don’t know what you’re doing, and you want to be
really professional. So what information do you need to know from this expert? I wouldn’t
plan anymore than ten questions. I would prepare somewhere between seven and ten, specific
things that you want answers to. There’s always a really good chance that other questions
are going to pop up in the interview, and that’s okay, but you need to have a starting
point and these are your prepared questions. If other questions come up, feel free to answer
them, but start with what you have prepared.
