How to Prepare For Your First Media Interview

hello everyone thank you so much for
tuning in my name is Ronke Lawal and if you don’t so don’t forget to
subscribe hit that like button share and leave a comment today I want to talk
about how you can prepare for your very first media interview and this is an
opportunity for you to learn some tips and buy some guidance but obviously it’s
a short video and if you need if you have any more questions or you need any
more advice I’ll leave some links below and you can get in touch and find out a
bit more about how I can help you with some mini training if you are approached
by the media to showcase your expertise I like your personal brand showcase your
business is exciting really exciting so first of all be exciting be happy do not
be nervous as the first tip I understand depending on the platform you might have
a few nerves but honestly I want to encourage you right now
that if you’ve been invited onto any platforms where it’s the TV where it’s a
podcast where it’s a radio interview and even if it’s your very first blog
interview don’t feel like there’s anything wrong or anything bad I don’t
want you to get into that mindset of nervousness and allow your nervousness
to block you from showing your best self and to block you from showing your
greatness especially you have brand ambassador for your business is a great
opportunity to raise the visibility of your business to showcase your service
to showcase your product so you know build your confidence reserves okay it’s
natural to be nervous it’s human you’re only human
but don’t allow the nerves to get the best of you okay I can trust you I know
you can do it next I want you to be authentic so depending on the platform
again it could be TV it could be a YouTube interview like this you could
either sit next to me and I could be asking you questions be authentic be
yourself be real do not look at everybody else and copy what who else is
doing be you now that being said being you does
not mean being rude being flippant being offensive okay you could also be mindful
of the wider community of society so what you think be authentic being real
be your service play your character but also be mindful that means you can go
out and say whether you want wherever you’re being interviewed or profile no
still be mindful of the wider society and community be be kind be kind
practice okay so I talked earlier about nerves and your confidence
but make sure you practice practice makes perfect if it’s your very first TV
or radio or podcast interview you might want to sit down with a colleague you’ve
got employees and your business or these a partnership you can just spa each
other just talk in a practice but if you know your own friend story you know your
business story or your personal brand story it should be easy I say that
watching this it’s so easy but it should be easy okay should be really
straightforward now if I want to give you a little final bonus tip if this is
going to be televised or filmed actually you might decide even if you use a radio
I’ll put cuz you might want to film for your own content creation
remember content is key make sure you’re comfortable you are groomed you’re
wearing an outfit that you are comfortable in you like the when you
look back in years to come you’re not going to look at that video or film
think what I’m wearing no flashes change trains change nobody’s quite funny but
you know just me just just look well I think whatever gets in is be comfortable
you are in style because confidence comes through it home dress how you you
know how how you interacts on camera so if it’s your very first televised
interview just make sure you know your well-groomed your hair’s okay makeup I’m
sure they’ll do you make of him but if he said every some more independent
platform or YouTube tella by a YouTube video you might want
to do your own makeup if you are if you whatever whatever makes you feel
good okay and yes all genders can wear makeup so just keep that in mind if
anybody’s it always not just for for women this is what his videos very buddy
and to really think about how you’re coming across some I’ve told you about
in confidence your communication your body language and you should be good to
go so I’m hoping that these tips are useful if you’ve watched this and you go
on your very first media interview read your interview depending on what
platform you know miss a blog interviews a lot easier because if it’s a telephone
interview for a magazine or a newspaper if it’s a written interview so don’t
anything because you can be yourself no plagiarism you’re not gonna make up
somebody else’s story or business story obviously it’s easier but if it’s
televised on a radio just practice be confident you know be your fence it be
real be you yeah and that’s it if you enjoy this video you that like button
leave a comment below and share sharing is caring thank you so much guys thank
you
